#COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records 490 New Cases, Taking Total Infections To 17, 148


By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday, June 16, 2020, announced that Nigeria had recorded 490 new cases of COVID-19 infections, taking the national total number of infections to 17, 148 cases.

Breakdown of the new cases are as follows: Lagos-142, Abuja-60, Bayelsa-54, Rivers (39), Delta (37), Oyo (30), Kaduna (26), Imo (23), Enugu (19), Gombe (11), Ondo (10), Bauchi (8), Ogun (7), Borno (6), and Benue (1).

Out of the 17,148 total confirmed cases in the country, 5,623 have been discharged, having recovered from the ailment, while 455 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the global pandemic.
