Reports Of Missing N23 billion In SDGs’ Office Are False – Presidency

By Lilian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG)- Allegations that the N23 billion that was reportedly missing from the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was found in the personal account of a former staff of the office, has been denied by the Presidency.

Janet McDickson, spokesperson of the Presidential SDGs office, sort to debunk trending online reports about the said theft, via a statement, in which she pointed out that at no time was N23 billion reported missing in the office, nor traced to the personal account of any staff of the office, serving or retired, adding that the rebuttal of the “reckless publications” became necessary “to set the records straight and put an end to these mischievous publications”.

According to McDickson, all funds released to the office had been used for the purposes for which they were released, debunking the accusation that a purported transfer of a staff from the office was a smokescreen to cover up the supposed fraud.
