Not Yet Safe To Reopen Schools, Viewing Centres, Events Centres, Others – PTF

By Lilian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following reports of preparations by some states in the country to reopen schools, television viewing centres, events centres, sports centres and other places of public interest, the Presidential Task Force On COVID-19 ( PTF) has advised that it would be premature and ill-advised to do so.

PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, made this known, on Monday, June 15, 2020, in Abuja, the FCT.

Mustapha advised Nigerians to avoid large gatherings of any sort to prevent further spread of COVID, in the face of increasing cases of the disease in the country, adding that all forms of large gatherings are still banned, pending further directives from the federal government on the advice of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and the PTF.

The PTF Chairman also directed security agencies to continue enforcing the ban on interstate travels in the country.
