#COVID-19 BRIEFS: Total Infections In Nigeria Exceed 16,000, As 403 Fresh Infections Are Recorded

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced late last night, via its verified twitter handle, that Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases had exceeded 16,000, as 403 new cases of the virus were recorded, with Gombe State topping the log with 73 cases, ahead of Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in Nigeria, which recorded 68 new cases.

Breakdown of the fresh cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria are as follows: Gombe-73, Lagos-68, Kano-46, Edo-36, FCT-35, Nasarawa-31, Kaduna-17, Oyo-16, Abia-15, Delta-13, Borno-13, Plateau-8, Niger-7, Rivers-7, Enugu-6, Ogun-6, Kebbi-3, Ondo-1, Anambra-1, Imo-1.

Out of the 16,085 cases so far confirmed by the NCDC, 5,220 have been discharged, following their recovery from the ailment, while 420 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic.
