School Feeding Programme: FG To Feed 60,391 Primary School Pupils In Ogun

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Federal Government, as part of its “Home-grown feeding programme for school children”, which is set to kick off nationwide, will feed a total of 60,391 primary school pupils in Ogun State.

Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Femi Ogunbanwo, dsiclosd this, while receiving food items such as bags of rice, beans, crates of eggs and several other provisions, which were delivered to the Ogun State Government by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

According to the commissioner, approximately 180,000 pupils had been listed for the feeding programme across the state, adding, however, that the state government would commence with one-quarter of the population in the first phase of the programme, which would take off from Ogun Central Senatorial District, before being expanded to cover the remaining two districts.

The commissioner also revealed plans by the state government to also feed parents, especially the vulnerable and poor.
