(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – As part of efforts aimed at strengthening its capacity to deal effectively with increasing cases of COVID-19 in the state, the Delta State Government, in collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and Agip, has set up a 70-bed isolation centre at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

The move was meant to provide accommodation for prospective patients, in case of an upsurge of cases in the state, according to the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, and the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye.

According to reports, the project, which was started about four weeks ago, is part of steps by the state government to curb the spread of the virus.
