Chelsea Stars Enjoy A Game Of Football-Tennis Prelude To Premier League Resumption

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Chelsea squad enjoyed a competitive game of football-tennis at training on Sunday – which included Ruben Loftus-Cheek comically kicking the ball into his own face!

Frank Lampard’s players are preparing for the restart of the Premier League this week and the Blues face Aston Villa at Villa Park next Sunday in their first game back.

But during training on Sunday and during a game of football-tennis, midfielder Loftus-Cheek caused fits of laughter amongst the players when he inadvertently directed the ball into his face, before falling to the floor.

The 24-year-old attempted to control the ball on his knee, but it ricocheted up into his face, as shown on the club’s Instagram channel.

The video prompted a number of laughing emojis from members of the Chelsea squad, including Willian, Antonio Rudiger and Tammy Abraham.

In another video, striker Olivier Giroud attempts two bicycle kicks, but both slammed into the net, with the video captioned: ‘As much as you try, sometimes it just doesn’t come off!’

With nine games to go this season, Chelsea are in a battle with as many as five other teams for a top-four spot.
