#COVID-19 BRIEFS: Nigeria Records Highest Daily Infections, As Total Cases Hit 14,554

By Lilian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Thursday, June 11, 2020, that the country had recorded 681 fresh COVID-19 infections, its highest daily tally since the outbreak of the pandemic, taking the total national figure to 14,554.

Breakdown of the fresh cases are as follows: Lagos-345, Rivers-51, Ogun (48), Gombe (47), Oyo (36), Imo (31), Delta (28), Kano (23), Bauchi (18), Edo (12), Katsina (12), Kaduna (9), Anambra (7), Jigawa (5), Kebbi (4), Ondo (4), and Nasarawa (1).

According to the NCDC, while 4,494 patients have been discharged from the country’s several isolation centres, having recovered from the ailment, 387 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the virus.
