Three Cabinet Members Test Positive For COVID-19 In Gombe

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Commissioner of Information and Culture in Gombe State, Ibrahim Alhassan, has announced that three commissioners in the state have tested positive for coronavirus.

Alhassan disclosed this to the media on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, adding that the COVID-19 statuses of the infected state executive members were confirmed after all 21 commissioners in Gombe and the governor’s aides were tested for the virus, confirming that one of the governor’s aides and five members of the Gombe State House of Assembly also tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the commissioner, consequent to the outbreak of community transmission in the state, the governor had ordered all civil servants in the state to make themselves available for testing, as part of a larger testing programme that is meant to cover the whole state.
