#Palliatives: FG Deploys Thousands Of Relief Items To Katsina

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development , has deployed 139 trucks of assorted grains and other relief Items to Katsina State, following a motion moved on the floor of the Senate by a member  representing Katsina Central Senatorial District, praying for the Federal Government to provide palliatives for some displaced victims of armed herdsmen attacks in the state.

The Eight most affected Local Government Areas of Dutsinma, Safana, Danmusa, Batsari, Sabuwa, Kankara, Faskari, and Batagarawa, are set to receive items such as rice, beans, Garri, Vegetable oil, salt, cartons of seasoning, canned tomatoes, mattresses, blankets, mosquito nets, nylon mats, plastic buckets among others, which have been handed over to the Katsina state government for onward distribution.

Also, 139 trucks of assorted grains, from the National Food Reserve, which were approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, as palliatives for the COVID-19 response, were also presented by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sa’adiyya Umar Farouk, to the state government
