Due To The COVID-19 Pandemic, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Second Niger Bridge Will Now Be Completed In 2022 – FG

By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Consequent to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had slowed down construction activities in the country, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the road project awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria and Reynolds Construction Company Limited (RCC), to the tune of 167 billion naira, will now be completed in the first quarter of 2022, rather than 2021, the earlier scheduled completion date.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, on Thursday, June 4, 2020, while speaking on a live television broadcast monitored by our correspondent in Abuja.

The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Second Niger Bridge and the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway are part of projects funded under the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund, which are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2022.
