Umahi Orders All State Executive Council Members To Take COVID-19 Test

Lilian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Following increasing cases of COVID-19 in Ebonyi State, Governor David Umahi  has instructed all State Executive Council members to take the coronavirus test.

Umahi gave the order via a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Uchenna Orji, on Thursday, June 4, 2020, in which he also directed all top government officials, especially those in the state’s Ministries of Finance and Budget to take the test within the next seven days, expressing dismay over the number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the state which has risen to 75 out of over 3,000 samples tested.

The governor has ordered the closure of all government offices from Thursday, June 4, 2020, to Wednesday, June 10, 2020, for proper contact tracing, advising civil servants to work from their respective homes within the period, and ordering comprehensive decontamination of all government offices, including the new and old Government House complexes.
