268 Nigerians Evacuated From China – Geoffrey Onyeama


By Bonita Onyeka (AGENDAWATCHDOG) –Two-hundred and sixty-eight Nigerians arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport from China, on Saturday, May 30, 2020, as the federal government continued the evacuation of Nigerians stranded abroad, consequent to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Geoffrey Onyeama , the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who made the disclosure, said that all the returnees would be made to undergo the 14-day quarantine period in line with the guidelines of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

Onyeama further stated that the ministry was in the process of developing new guidelines for intending evacuees, adding that an aspect of the new guidelines would entail evacuees doing a compulsory COVID-19 test five days prior to departure to Nigeria.
