#COVID-19 Briefs: 389 New Cases Reported In Nigeria, Total Infections Now 8,733

Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on its Twitter handle that Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases further increased on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, with the addition of 389 cases, taking the country’s total figures to 8, 733, a sign that the virus was increasing exponentially, despite measures so far put in place by political and health authorities to check its further spread.

Breakdown of the new case, which are spread across 22 states of the federation is as follows: Lagos-256, Katsina-23, Edo-22, Rivers-14, Kano-13, Adamawa-11, Akwa Ibom-11, Kaduna-7, Kwara-6, Nasarawa-6, Gombe-2, Plateau-2, Abia-2, Delta-2, Benue-2, Niger-2, Kogi-2, Oyo-2, Imo-1, Borno-1, Ogun-1., Anambra-1.

2501 patients have been discharged, following recovery from the ailment, while 254 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic.
