#Palliatives: UNHCR, NCFMI Distribute Relief Items To Cameroonian Refugees In Cross River State

Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Succor came the way of Cameroonian refugees seeking asylum in Cross River State, as the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in partnership with the National Commissioner for Refugees, Migrants and Internally displaced persons (NCFMI), on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, donated relief items to their camp at Adagom and Ukende/Akpakpanga in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The distribution of the relief items was part of wider efforts by the UNHCR to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the refugees and increase awareness of the ailment within the camp.

Cross River State plays hosts to over 70,000 refugees displaced by an ongoing civil conflict in neighbouring Cameroon, a fact not lost on the UNHCR which has pledged to continue supporting the state in providing relief for their displaced guests.
