#COVID-19 Update: Infections Escalate As Nigeria Reports 313 Fresh Cases, Taking Total Infections to 7,839

Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Coronavirus cases in Nigeria are escalating at an alarming rate, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed via its verified twitter handle on Sunday, May 24, 2020, that 313 fresh cases of the dreaded virus have been recorded by the country, taking the total number of infections in the country to 7, 389.

Breakdown of the fresh cases, which are spread across 12 states, including the FCT, are as follows: 148-Lagos 36-FCT 27-Rivers 19-Edo 13-Kano 12-Ogun 11-Ebonyi 8-Nasarawa 8-Delta 7-Oyo 6- Plateau 5-Kaduna 4-Kwara 3-Akwa Ibom 3-Bayelsa 2-Niger 1-Anambra.

Out of the 7, 389 total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, 2, 263 have been discharged form the various isolation centres in the country, while 226 fatalities have been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic.
