Abia’s Commissioner For Environment, Solomon Ogunji, Is Dead

Lilian Ogbonna (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The demise has been announced of Abia State’s Commissioner for Environment, Solomon Ogunji. The sad news was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Information, John Kalu via a statement on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

According to Kalu, Ogunju died on Saturday, May 23, 2020, following a brief illness associated with high blood pressure. He prayed for the repose of Ogunji’s soul and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Excerpts of the statement reads: “It is with great sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the demise of a member of Abia State Executive Council and the Honorable Commissioner for Environment, Dr Solomon Ogunji, who passed away on Saturday, 23rd May, 2020, at the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba, after a brief illness related to high blood pressure.

“Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who received the sad news with shock yesterday has personally communicated and condoled with the family of the bereaved and is currently in mourning”.
