We Did Not Seize Drugs, Arms & Ammunition In Benin, NDLEA Slams Video-Claim

By Olivia Isibor (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has debunked a trending video on the social media in which it is credited for the seizure of a large cache of arms, ammunition, and bags of cannabis.

According to Buba Wakawa, the State Commander of the agency, the streaming video was a creation of criminal minds intent on stoking up political and ethnic tensions in the state for selfish purposes. He said the video was that of an incident in November 2016, which had already been concluded in court, adding that the video was being exploited as an instrument for sowing seeds of discord between the Hausa community and their Edo hosts, with a view to heating up the polity for mischievous motives.

Buba promised that the architects of the misinformation would not go unpunished, as efforts were being made to fish them out and make them face the brunt of the law.
