Profiling Lagos State’s Free Academy For Youths In Creative Industry
By Franca Joseph (AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Two Chinese nationals accused of bribing Mr. Abdullahi Lawal, Zonal Head of Nigeria’s apex financial crimes watchdog, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with sum of N100 million have been granted bail by a High Court in Sokoto State headed by Justice Muhammad Saidu Sifawa, who also doubles as the Chief Judge of the State.
According to the judge, the respondents, who are currently facing trial on counts of conspiracy and bribery, were unable to extricate the presumption of innocence of the accused. The bail conditions are that the accused should pay a sum of N5million each and two sureties, one of which must be living in Sokoto and possesses a landed property with a certificate of occupancy; to deposit their international passports with the Chief Registrar of the court and; to agree to an undertaking that they would not travel out of Nigeria pending the conclusion of their trial.
