292 Stranded Nigerians In Saudi Arabia Evacuated By FG

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – As part of ongoing efforts to evacuate Nigerians stranded abroad due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, about 292 Nigerians stranded in Saudi Arabia were safely returned to the country yesterday, Tuesday, May 19, 2020, by the Federal Government.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama announced the arrival of the evacuees via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

According to the minister, among the evacuees from Saudi Arabia were nursing mothers and children who have commenced the mandatory 14 days isolation period for all foreign returnees.

The Federal Government had earlier evacuated about 600 stranded Nigerians from the United Kingdom, United States and Dubai, as part of ongoing efforts to evacuate Nigerians stranded in foreign countries, consequent to the outbreak of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
