(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – LoveWorld Television Ministry, a Christian broadcasting network founded by Pator Chris Oyakhilome, has been sanctioned by Ofcom, the United Kingdom’s apex communications regulator, for comments aired on the network about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ofcom accuses LoveWorld of spreading unproven conspiracy theories suggesting a correlation between the COVID-19 pandemic and the roll out of 5G technology and hinting at a global cover-up about the true cause of the pandemic
Oyakhilome’s LoveWorld network was also accused of making unsubstantiated claims that hydroxycloroquine, an ant-malaria drug was a cure for COVID-19,
Ofcom said the sanction imposed on the broadcaster, required it to broadcast statements of its findings, adding that it was considering whether to impose further sanction on LoveWorld broadcasting network.
LoveWorld Television Ministry is the communication arm of Believers Loveworld Ministry, also known as Christ Embassy, with headquarters in Lagos, and operational branches across the world.
