By Lilian Ogbonna, For Agenda Watchdog, May 18, 2020

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – In a tragic development in Bauchi State, a Nigerian medical practitioner has infected 10 members of his family with the dreaded COVID-19.
The sad news was disclosed by Dr. Rilwanu Muhammed, Chairman, State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA), on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

According to Rilwanu, the doctor and nine members of his family had been discharged, though his 9-year-old son was still in isolation haven not yet fully recovered.

Rilwanu said the doctor might have contacted the disease while attending to COVID-19 patients, but blamed him for infecting his family members with the disease by going home when he realized he was infected, rather than going into self-isolation where he would have been treated by his colleagues.
