(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – There are plans in the pipeline to reopen the economy of Lagos State, according Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Governor Sanwo-Olu made this disclosure on Sunday, May 17, 202, following the State’s Security Council meeting at the State House, Marina.

The governor premised the need to reopen the economy on the size of the state’s economy, the number of businesses operating in the state and the huge number of employees on their payroll as one of the major considerations for fully reopening the economy.

The governor, however, pointed out that the state was not in a hurry, as certain fundamental things needed to be done, one of which is the initiation “Register-to-Open” initiative by the state government which is meant to assess the level of readiness of the players in the identified sectors of the economy for supervised operations.

To this end, the officials from the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC) and Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) would be paying assessment visits to restaurants, companies, religious houses to assess their level of preparedness to recommence full operations..
