(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – According to a tweet on the verified handle of the Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ACDC), on Sunday, May 10, 2020, the African continent officially has 60,657 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is spread across 53 countries.
The tweet showed that South Africa, Egypt, Morocco and Algeria continue to top the log of African countries affected by the pandemic.
COVID-19 has inflicted 2,223 fatalities on the continent, while 20,792 patients have been so far discharged from the several isolation and treatment centers in the continent.
In West Africa, Ghana tops the log with 4,263 confirmed cases, with 22 fatalities, with Nigeria coming second with 4151 cases, coupled with 128 fatalities.
