(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigerians abroad intending to be evacuated back to the country have been warned by the Federal Government against making any payments to any private account in order not to be defrauded by fraudsters. Rather, travelers are advised to make all payments directly to the accounts of airlines contracted by the government for their evacuation.
Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated this during the routine briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja, FCT, on Thursadya, May 7, 2020.
There had been reports that Nigerians in India were being asked to remit the cost of their air fares to some private accounts.
