(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – With the recent release of latest COVID-19 figures in Nigeria put at 381, Lagos State recorded its highest number of cases in a day, with 183 cases, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Thursday May 7, 2020.
Since the outbreak of the virus in Nigeria, Lagos has been its epicenter with 1491 cases out of a national total of 3, 526 cases so far recorded, followed by Kano State-482 and Abuja,FCT with 316 cases respectively. A total of 601 patients have been discharged, while 107 deaths have been recorded.
There is growing apprehension across the country as the disease continues to escalate at an alarming proportion despite the efforts of government and health authorities such as the NCDC and the Ministry of Health to stem the spread through lockdowns and release of guidelines on social distancing and other preventive measures.
