(AGENDAWACTHDOG) – Efforts against COVID-19 by the Rivers and Enugu State Governments have been further boosted by the private sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) with the donation of a fully equipped isolation centre, beds & accessories, respectively.

The health facility donated to the Rivers State Government, which is situated at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, the state capital, includes an isolation and a treatment centre that are meant to strengthen the capacity of the state government in efforts aimed at checking the further spread of  COVID-19.

At Enugu, the corporate coalition handed over beds and other accessories to help equip the state’s isolation and treatment centers with sufficient accommodation for COVID-19 patients.

The beneficiary states – Enugu and Rivers – of the CACOVID’s largesses, promised to put the donations to effective use in the ongoing war on the pandemic in both states, which they admit has been very daunting.

The Coalition Against Coronavirus (CACOVID) is a joint initiative of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Aliko Dangote Foundation, MTN, ITB, Access Bank, UBA, GTBank and other private sector organisations. CACOVID is working to fight COVID-19 by raising public awareness, supporting healthcare professionals, institutions and governments, and by mobilizing private sector leadership and resources.
