(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Anyone found moving about without spotting a protective facemask will be arrested and prosecuted, according to the Federal Government. Mr. Boss Mustapha, Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, disclosed this during the routine briefing on COVId-19 on Friday, May 1, 2020.

Wearing of face masks is part of the guidelines released for the execution of the piecemeal easing of the lockdown imposed by the federal government on Lagos, Ogun and Abuja, as part of wider efforts to stem the further spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The section of the guidelines in the PTF’s document concerning the wearing of face masks reads: Anyone without a face mask/covering will be asked to return home and will be prosecuted.

Compulsory wearing of face masks is part of wider post-lockdown measures meant to check the further spread of COVID-19 in the country.
