(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The use of Chloroquine and Zithromax for the treatment of COVID-19 in Bauchi State has been mandated by the State Governor, Bala Muhammed, who says he will accept responsibility for any side effects the therapy might have on victims of the virus in the state.

Governor Muhammed advised frontline health workers in the state to ignore warnings from abroad that there was no proof yet that the drugs were effective for the treatment of COVID-19, as he believes they are effective remedies, following his recovery from the ailment.

There has been a spike in the use of Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19 globally, following revelations by United States President, Donald Trump that the drugs were proving effective in the treatment of COVID—19 patients in the U.S.
