(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Lagos State continues to top the charts of States in Nigeria with confirmed cases of the dreaded #COVID-19, as 80 new cases were confirmed on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, taking the total number of infections in the state to 844, according to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).
Since the incursion of #COVID-19 into Nigeria, Lagos has been its hub. This has led to the introduction of some preventive measures by the Federal and Lagos State Governments to curb the further escalation of the diseases in the state. Thus, the state was among the three states (Ogun and Abuja, the FCT, being the other 2) where a five weeks lockdown was imposed by the federal government to stem the further spread of the virus.
Out of the total 1, 532 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria, 844 are in Lagos State, while 143 recoveries and 19 fatalities have been recorded by the state so far.
