Tokyo Olympics Might Be Cancelled, If #COVID-19 Persists – Yoshiro Mori

According to Yoshiro Mori, President of the Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee, the postponed global sports fiesta may have to be ultimately cancelled if the #COVID-19 pandemic persisted till 2021, given no room for further postponements.

Yoshiro’s comments, during an interview with a Japanese sports daily published on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, comes on the heels of growing doubts by medical experts that the virus may not have been contained sufficiently enough to give room for the hosting of a sports event that involves participants, fans and spectators from across the globe.

Consequent to the onset of the #COVID-19 pandemic, the Tokyo Olympic Games had been postponed to hold on July 23, 2021.
