Some People Want To Kill Me – Taiwo Akerele

By Olivia Isibor, For Agenda watchdog, April 28, 2020

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Mr. Taiwo Akerele,  former Chief of Staff to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, on Sunday, April 26, 2020, raised an alarm bordering on threats to his life, following purported incursions made into his residence by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), who reportedly arrested his Personal Assistant, Jaspa Olowojoba, the security man and other domestic staff in the residence.

Akerele confirmed the incident to pressmen via telephone.

However, the Edo State Government, reacting through the Commissioner for Information, Mr Paul Ohonbamu, described the former Chief of Staff’s lamentations as an attempt to “blackmail” the Executive Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, who, according to the commissioner had accepted Akerele’s resignation in good faith.

Mr. Taiwo, Akerele had last weekend announced his resignation from his position as the Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on matters of principle, according to him.
