Too Premature To Relaxe Anambra Lockdown – Policy Expert

By Olivia Isibor, For Agenda Watchdog, April 26, 2020

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) –The intention of the Government of Anambra State to relax the state’s #COVID-19 lockdown has been frowned at by a governance and Policy Expert, and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Mr Oseloka Obaze, who, while speaking at Awka, the state capital, on Sunday, April 26, 2020, advised the state government to refrain from taking any hasty decision on the lockdown that could have a ricochet effect on the state in the long run.

According to Obaze, hurriedly lifting the lockdown was capable of exposing the public to health hazards associated with the #coronavirus, as there was no empirical proof that the state was #COVID-19 free, apart from the state’s only index case and contacts testing negative to the deadly disease. He said that reopening schools, businesses, Churches and ministries could be a fatal decision.

Gov. Willie Obiano had on Saturday, April 26, 2020 disclosed plans by his administration to relax the  #COVID-19 lockdown order in the state by giving the green light for the reopening of worship centers, businesses, ministries and markets.
