Lockdown Enforcement: Policeman Shoots 10-Year-Old Boy In Jigawa

By Bonita Onyeka, For Agenda Watchdog, April 20, 2020.

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – A policeman supposedly enforcing COVID-19 lockdown in Jigawa State shot one Usman Abdulkadir, a 10-years old boy in Sankara Community, on Monday, April 20, 2020. The young boy was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The incident led to riot-like scenes as angry youths took to the streets to express their displeasure at the incident.

Cases of brutality by Nigerian security personnel against Nigerians in efforts to enforce the government-imposed lockdown of some parts of the country has sadly resulted in some fatalities. The Killing of five promising youths in Aba, Onitsha and Warri, respectively, and the assault of a lady at Odo Ori Market, Iwo, Osun State by Nigerian security personnel, are classic examples of the highhandedness of overzealous Nigerian security personnel supposedly enforcing government’s lockdown order.
