(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – In order to have the legal backing that would allow him to repatriate wandering Almajiris from other states, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, recently signed into law, the Kano State Infectious Diseases Regulation Law 2020. He disclosed this at the kano State Government House, on Sunday, April 20, 2020, while being briefed by the Kano State Task Force on COVID-19, together with the fundraising committee at the Government House.

The new law empowers the governor to take measures that are meant to protect the state from infectious diseases, including ordering the shutdown of religious houses, markets, event centers, parks and placing blanket bans on activities that are likely to endanger the health of the public.

36 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in kano State so far.
