Police Brutality: IGP Condemns Police Attack At Osun Market, Orders Arrest Of Suspects

By Franca Joseph, For Agenda Watchdog, April 19, 2020

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, has condemmed the attack on a market woman by two police men, identified as Inspector Ikuesan Taiwo and PC Abass Ibrahim, at the Odo Ori Market, Iwo, Osun State. This followed angry reactions from the public following the posting of the purported assault on social media which went viral.

Reacting to the ugly incident via twitter, the police distanced itself from the sad development, saying the IGP considered it an “unwarranted, unnecessary and unjustifiable assault” on a hapless citizen by undisciplined policemen.

The two policemen have since been arrested on the oders of the Commissioner of Police, Osun State command, on the directive of the IG, who while warning that the force would not tolerate indiscipline from any member of the force, implored Nigerians to continue collaborating with the police to deliver better services to Nigerians.
