By Franca Joseph, For Agenda Watchdog, April 17, 2020

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – About four years after the demise of Ken Saro-Wiwa Jr, eldest son of the late environmental activist, social critic and playwright, another member of his family, Menegian Saro-Wiwa, has lost his life to (Covid-19) in a hospital in London. He was said to have had underlying health issues. The sad news was made public by Noo Saro-Wiwa, his sister on her Instagram page, Thursday, April 16, 2020.

According to Noo’s post: “We said goodbye to my brother, Gian, on Monday. He had Covid-19 combined with underlying health conditions. Gian was the smartest and most talented out of all of us: a champion sprinter at school, a poet, an artist, budding engineer, a self-taught guitarist and pianist. But mental health issues limited his life from age 16 onwards”.

The late Ken Saro-Wiwa, and eight other Ogoni rights activists were executed in 1995 by the jackboot regime of late military strongman, General Sani Abacha.
