(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – The families of the remaining Chibok School girls who were among the group abducted by Islamist fundamentalists, Boko Haram six years ago, were visited by a group of Borno State cabinet and legislative members on behalf of the State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. After delivering the governor’s message to the families of the abducted girls, the delegation presented them with 25kg bags of rice, 250 gallons of cooking oil, and N5.6 million cash.
On April 14, 2014, Boko Haram elements, stormed a Government Secondary School in Chibok and abducted about 217 schoolgirls, who were preparing for their West African School Certificate Exams, from their dormitories. 107 of the girls were later released following negotiations between the government and the insurgents.
