AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Nigeria’s former military strongman, (retired) General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB for short), has advised that a synergistic approach by both the federal and state governments would suffice as the best weapon for winning the country’s ongoing war on COVID-19.
In a signed statement, the former military dictator called for a collective onslaught on the virus through a collaboration between the center and the federating states. He also enjoined all Nigerians to join forces with the government and health authorities in the quest to collectively defeat the threat COVID-19 posed to the collective existence of Nigerians, irrespective of primordial leanings. He commended government at all levels, health authorities, individuals and corporate bodies for their treasured contributions to the war efforts, adding that despite the increasing cases of the virus in the country, it had been well managed so far.
IBB called on religious faithfuls, especially Christians and Muslims to use the Easter and the month preceding Ramadan respectively to pray for God’s restorative power to take precedence over the current ugly situation.
