(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Delta state has recorded its third COVID-19 case. This was disclosed by Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the State Governor on Saturday, April 11, 2020. According to a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, Dr Okowa disclosed that the patient was in stable condition and was being cared for at the Asaba isolation center. He also said that efforts were already being made to track all those who had contact with the patient in order to place them on isolation as a preventive measure. Governor Okowa reiterated the need for Deltans, particularly Christians, to worship at home, in adherence to social distancing and stay-at-home practices, which are the best preventive measures against the continued spread of the deadly virus, as prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Nigeria Center For Disease Control (NCDC). He thanked Deltans for their cooperation so far in the war against the novel virus, promising to continue collaborating with the federal government in efforts aimed at containing the further spread of the virus in the country.
