COVID-19: LASUTH Places 4 Nurses In Isolation Following Death Of Patient

(AGENDAWATCHDOG) – Four Nurses at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) have been placed on isolation, having had contact with a patient who died of the novel coronavirus at the hospital’s Institute of Maternal and Child Health (Ayinke House). The sad news was disclosed by Prof. Tokunboh Fabamwo, Chief Medical Director of the teaching hospital. The deceased was said to be suffering from puerperal sepsis and was transferred from the Alimosho General Hospital. Prof. Fabamwo also disclosed that the blood sample of the husband of the deceased had been taken for COVID-19 test, and that the result was being expected soon. He stated that henceforth, the Triage Protocol of the hospital would be up-scaled further off from the emergency center through the construction of a tent for the screening of visitors to the hospital and that anybody with high temperature would be handed over to the Nigeria Center for Diseases Control (NCDC).
