Profiling Lagos State’s Free Academy For Youths In Creative Industry

The Lagos State Government has magnanimously dropped the charges against popular Nigerian musician, Afeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley), a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Babatunde Gbadamosi, and his wife, Folashade. The trio were charged for flouting the restriction order on movement of persons during the lockdown imposed by the Federal Government and the Social Distancing directive by the Lagos State Government.
Having been brought before the Ikeja Magistrate Court, the offenders were relieved when the State Director of Public Prosecution did not read their charges to them, saying that the state was withdrawing its charges against the trio on the advice of Lagos State Attorney-General, Mr. Motosere Onibanjo (SAN).
However, the withdrawal of the charges against the trio were on three conditions: they should individually apologize to the President and Lagos State Governments, write an undertaking to henceforth obey all laws concerning COVID-19, and to proceed on a compulsory 14 days isolation after which they were expected to report back to the court.
