Lockdown: Delta State Establishes Food Bank

In its bid to cushion the searing effects of the ongoing lockdown of the State as part of measures to check the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Delta State Government has announced the setting up of a food bank for low income families in the state.

The cheering news was disclosed by Mr. Charles Aniagwu, the Commissioner for Information, during a press briefing sequel to a meeting of the Central Committee on Managing and Containing the Coronavirus Pandemic In Delta, chaired by Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Mr. Aniagwu also disclosed that a committee had been established at local government, ward and unit levels to manage the food bank and ensure that the food gets to the needy residents of the state.
