Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, stalwart of former ruling party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and self-confessed “Buhari hater” has faulted trending online reports that Abba Kyari, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff has passed on due to complications arising from his testing positive for the dreaded Coronavirus.
Fani Kayode made his views known on his verified twitter handle where he reprimanded the authors of the fake news whom he labelled “vicious” and “Heartless”.
The former Aviation Minister admitted that despite having a no-love-lost relationship with the Buhari-led administration, he would never wish anybody dead because of political disagreements.
The social media had exploded on Thursday, April 2, 2020 with news of Kyari’s purported demise from complications arising from his Coronavirus infection.
Mr. Kyari tested positive for COVID-19 and has since been in self-isolation. Some other high profile Nigerians have also tested positive for the novel virus and have gone on self-isolation. The list includes, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Frank Okiye, and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.
