COVID-19: Katsina Records First Suspected Case

The Director General, Katsina State Ministry of Health, Kabir Mustapha, has revealed that the state had recorded its first suspected case of COVID-19.

According to the DG, the patient, who has gone into self-isolation, developed symptoms related to the virus on his return from Malaysia.

in his words, while briefing newsmen, “Already, his samples have been taken and results are expected tomorrow. The contact tracing will commence as soon as results are out.”

The DG also stated that all precautionary measures were being taken as the ministry was closely working with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

He advised the of Dutsinma town to avoid public gatherings, and to seek medical help as adequate measures had been put in place to support affected victims.
